YouTube is testing a new feature ... where is all this going to end up ...

YouTube is testing a new feature that allows you to buy the products you see in videos directly from its platform. This means that viewers can shop for products featured on selected YouTube videos "via" YouTube. This new feature is currently being tested on Android, iOS and the Internet with a limited number of users in the United States.

As part of this experiment the selected "creators" may add some products to their videos, which will be available for purchase via the shopping bag icon.Google has mentioned on its YouTube support page that this new feature is being tested. YouTube says this feature will allow viewers to get relevant information about the products they see in the videos and the options for purchasing it.YouTube also claims to be working with creators selected for this "feature".

Visitors can see a list of exclusive products by clicking on the shopping bag icon that appears in the lower left corner of some video.Through it visitors can explore the page of each product where they can find additional information, related videos and options to purchase the product.

As a reminder, Google started showing shopping ads to YouTube users six years ago, trying to be a digital storefront. Now it looks like YouTube wants to go to the next level.Last October 2020, the Bloomberg website reported that it had begun asking YouTube creators to use YouTube software to mark and track products featured in videos.

This latest test stream of YouTube seems to be an extension of the same idea above. YouTube also has the potential to release this feature to more users over time. Which means it's about to be the most delusional time of the year, as well.
